Henry the hedgehog had a huge hat. He hid snacks in his hat when he went on hikes.
"Henry!" his friend Hannah the hen called from the hill. "Hurry! I have something to show you!"
Henry huffed as he hurried up the high hill. His short legs made it hard to hike.
"What's the rush?" asked Henry when he reached Hannah.
Hannah pointed with her wing. "Look at that hot air balloon!"
A bright hot air balloon hung in the sky. It had red and white stripes with a happy face on it.
"Wow!" Henry's mouth fell open. "I wish I could touch the clouds!"
Just then, the man with the hot air balloon waved.
"Hello there! Want a ride in my balloon?" he asked.
Hannah clucked with joy. "Oh! Can we?"
So Henry and Hannah hopped in the basket. The man turned on the heat, and whoosh! They began to rise.
"We're so high!" squealed Henry, holding his hat tight.
Hannah peeked over the edge. "The houses look like toys!"
Suddenly, Henry's hat flew off his head!
"Oh no!" he cried. "My hat!"
But the wind pushed the hat back to him. It landed right on Hannah's head!
"Hey!" Hannah laughed. "This hat is too heavy!"
Then they saw why. Henry had a whole ham sandwich hidden in his hat!
"Lunch time!" Henry grinned.
The hot air balloon floated through the sky while Henry and Hannah shared the ham sandwich and watched the world below.
"Best day ever!" Henry said with his mouth full.
